How to clean white rubber shoe sole?
Actually, I have seen a lot of people searching for, how to clean white rubber shoe sole? That’s what pushed me today to make this article. Below you’ll find all the shoe sole cleaning solution including insoles too. So stick to it.
Things you are going to need
- An old toothbrush or scrub brush.
- Clean cloth.
- Abrasive powder cleaner.
- Distilled vinegar (white).
- Glove (rubber)
- Shoe conditioner.
- Eye protective gear.
Let’s Get Started…
You surely don’t want your floor to get dirty when cleaning the sole, right? So pick some newspapers and cover your workspace (where you’ll be cleaning sole) with newspapers. And wear rubber gloves to keep your hand skin safe from shoe cleaning materials, some materials can damage skin badly.
If your shoe sole is still loaded with dirt, getting rid of them is the very first thing. You can use the opposite side (hard side) of the toothbrush to remove solid dirt. Clean properly, there should not remain any solid dirt but stains.
Now take 1 tablespoon of an abrasive powder cleaner and 2 tablespoons fresh water, keep mixing them until they turn into the paste.
Take a cloth and wipe the sole of the shoe before you apply the paste on it.
Now dip the toothbrush or scrub brush into water athenhem dip it into the paste. Then start scrubbing the sole with the paste. Before scrubbing the solution, make sure you wear rubber hand glove and eye protective gear to save your skin and eye from the cleaning chemicals.
Keep scrub all the crevices, edge, ridges of the sole until all the stains are removed.
Now leave the sole for 20 minutes and then scrub the entire sole again. Lastly, wash the sole with fresh water and wipe it will a clean towel.
How to Clean Leather Shoe Sole?
If you have recently walked on mud, then it might be caked on your sole. To remove them, tap your shoes together over a trashcan to lose as much dirt as you can. If you still see some dirt caked on the sole, you can use something hard to remove that.
Take 4 tablespoons of white vinegar and 4 tablespoons of water in a small bowl. Mix them until they become paste.
Now take a soft cloth and dip it into the paste that you just made. Squeeze the cloth to take out excessive water.
Rub the cloth gently to every nook and crannies in order to make sure there is no dirt, grime, mud or anything left.
Now sprinkle some baking soda into the shoe sole but make sure that, baking soda doesn’t touch any part of the shoe except the sole. After sprinkling baking soda, again rub the sole with a cloth.
If you want, you can apply a little amount of leather conditioner in the sole and then leave the sole to dry for at least 30 minutes. And once the soles are dried, clean them with a clean towel.
How to Whiten Shoe Soles?
With time white shoe sole loses its whiteness and that’s pretty obvious. Our shoes get dirty every time we go out and sole whitening solutions are expensive. But still, a lot of people manages to buy them. However, I am going to show you a method that will help you to get back the original whiteness of your shoe sole. Worried about the cost? Don’t worry. You’ll find all the needed ingredients into your kitchen or bathroom.
- A Bucket.
- Melamine resin foam eraser.
- Mild detergent.
- White microfiber cloths.
- Soft brush.
First, wipe the entire sole and then tap both shoes together to lose dirt. Tap them over a sheet or trashcan, otherwise, your workplace will get dirty.
Make the side and the bottom of the sole wet. And the microfiber cloth too.
Now put a gentle amount of mild detergent on the cloth and make the cloth soapy.
Rub the soapy cloth on the side and the bottom of the sole. With the soft bristle brush scrub until all the dirt and debris are gone.
Once the sole seems completely cleaned from dirt and debris, wash the sole to rinse the soap and check is there still any stain or debris remaining.
Now time to apply the toothpaste. Apply the paste on the stained area of the sole and wait at least for 30 minutes. And then start scrubbing the areas with the bristled brush. Wash the sole again and find out is there any stain left or not.
Rub the areas you just scrubbed with a dampen melamine resin eraser in order to restore the sole.
